What criteria is used to disable the Express version? Is it:

    a. duration in n days? If so, what is the value of n?

    b. m sessions? If so, what is the value of m?

    c. or, is  the expiry date hard-coded? So, the number of days varies depending on when the installation is done.

    Hi AJ,

The expiry date is hard-coded, with the VisualAPL Express version now available for download scheduled to expire on 01/01/2008.

After the expiry date of a VisualAPL Express version, attempting to create a new or open an existing VisualAPL project in MS VS2005 will cause MS VS2005 to close. This is the MS VS2005 behavior option which MS makes available to us in that circumstance.

You know this, but for the benefit of others who read this thread, VisualAPL Express is provided for purposes of demonstration and review purposes only. The Express version is designed to expire approximately 90 days from the release of a version of VisualAPL Express so that evaluations will always be performed using a relatively current version of the product.

Thanks to you and the other users of VisualAPL Express for your continued efforts to explore the product and provide your valuable comments in this forum. Keep those comments coming to us via the forum so that all can benefit from the conversation.

    Joe
