We have been running APLNext on Vista, and have tested the installer for Vista. If you are going to install on Vista, make sure to install it somewhere other than c:\program files as getting permission to use that directory can take quite an effort.
We have also have been using Avalon for the GUI. Some of the Avalon stuff can be truly awesome. If you have installed Avalon we could upload some of our examples to get you started.
