11:00am–12:00pm Advanced .Net language interaction

Passing functions between .Net languages and consume them dynamically.

Create operators in C# and consume them transparently in APLNext.

Using anonymous functions for the untimate in dynamic code.

11:00 – 11:20
Speed counts, tuning your code.
Create specialized utilities using a combination of strong and dynamic typing.

11:20 – 11:40
.Net TOOLS
Using .Net facilities to replace legacy APL utilities. (DateTime, String, File, Collections, etc)

11:40 – 12:00
APLNext Platform Support
Compile for 64-bit, 32-bit or both.

A201 - Create and overload operators, and add event creation to your application.

Add events to your application which can be consumed by either .Net applications or APL+Win.

Using function overloads and operator overloads make an application interoperate with the .Net world seamlessly.
12:00am–1:15pm Lunch
1:15pm–2:15pm Application Deployment

Create a setup project for your application.  Validate prerequisites needed for your application.

Strong name your assemblies and load them into the Global Assembly Cache (GAC)

No-Touch deployment, automatic updates, and deploying your application on-line.

1:15 – 1:35
WebServices 101
New and enhanced Application Server Performance working with existing APL+Win. Outperform asp sites by an order of magnitude.
Build a dynamic interactive web site.

1:35 – 1:55
WebServices 201
Integrating your .Net assemblies (APLNext, C#, etc) with Enterprise Server. Outperform WebServices 101 sites by an order of magnitude.

1:55 – 2:15
APLNext and VSTO (Visual Studio Tools for Office) 101
Using Office as a foundation for smart client solutions created with .NET is the major benefit of VSTO.
In this session you will learn about the architecture of VSTO, how it brings .NET to the world of Office and how you can develop custom solutions using the VSTO 2005 release.

You will learn the most important details of the programming model, host items, host controls and the VSTO add-in infrastructure.
Experience for yourself how all these features enable you to create powerful and robust business solutions based on Office and the .NET Framework

A202 - No-Touch Deployment and Creation.

Configuring IIS and APLNext Web Application Server to make Microsoft's No-Touch deployment of your application possible.

A client will be able to use your application by simply clicking on a link on a web page.

Just click the link and your application will load!

Updates can be automatically deployed and cost per use of your application can be implemented.

2:15pm–3:15pm Web Projects

Using the Web Designer to integrate APL with ASPX for a totally new experience.

Learn how to create professional web applications in Visual Studio using APLNext as your language.

The power of APL meshed with the delivery of ASPX.

No corporate bounderies!

2:15 – 2:45
APLNext and VSTO (Visual Studio Tools for Office) 201
Many solutions have a business requirement to retrieve data from some back-end source, and present it within the context of an Office document.
There is often an additional requirement to be able to modify the data, and keep it in sync with the server.

VSTO provides significant design-time and runtime support to allow you to do this in an easy, seamless manner.
One of the things VSTO does is to bring the full power of standard .NET Windows Forms databinding to Office-based solutions.
This session explores the VSTO databinding support for Excel and Word document-based solutions.

2:45 – 3:15
Deploying your APLNext Application
Using Visual Studio 2005 Setup and Deployment projects: Validating pre-requisites, installer options, UI, writing registry keys, etc.

A203 - Building a Web Project

Modify the WebProject template to customize the creation of your Web Project.

Starting with a new Web Project quickly build and integrate a solution using APLNext and ASPX.

Integrating APLNext with IIS and ASPX means that APL is now an integral part of any corporate web solution.
